BASIC INFORMATION

Course Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Tablature

  • What is TAB?

  • Difference between TAB and Standard Notation

  • Reading string numbers (E A D G B e)

  • Left-hand and right-hand coordination

  • Practice: Open string exercises

Module 2: Frets and Numbers

  • Frets and their representation

  • Reading basic melodies with single notes

  • Practice: Simple Indian/Bollywood/folk melodies (1 string)

Module 3: Basic Finger Exercises in TAB

  • Finger placement drills using TAB

  • Simple scale runs (C major, G major)

  • Practice: One-octave scales in TAB

Module 4: Playing Simple Songs

  • Reading and playing 2–3 note melodies

  • TABs of famous songs: Twinkle Twinkle, Happy Birthday, Indian tunes

  • Developing rhythm and timing

Module 5: Chord TABs and Patterns

  • Introduction to chord tabs

  • Reading chord patterns (e.g., 022000 = Em)

  • Practice: Basic chord strumming via TAB

Module 6: Riffs and Licks

 

  • Power chords in TAB

  • Classic riffs from Indian or Western music (e.g., Smoke on the Water)

  • Practice: Creating your own 4-bar riff

Eligibility Criteria for Enrollment

 

  1. Age Requirement:

    • Minimum age: 8 years and above

    • No upper age limit. Suitable for children, teens, adults, and senior learners.

  2. Educational Qualification:

    • No formal academic qualification required

    • Basic reading skills (English or regional language) preferred

  3. Musical Background:

    • No prior musical knowledge or instrument training required

    • This course is designed for absolute beginners

  4. Instruments & Materials:

    • The student must have access to a 6-string acoustic or electric guitar

    • A notebook, a pen/pencil, and a basic music folder for assignments

  5. Device (for Online/Hybrid mode):

    • Smartphone / Tablet / Laptop with a camera and a microphone

    • A stable internet connection for attending online classes

  6. Commitment:

    • Willingness to attend all classes and complete practice/homework regularly

    • Parental guidance for students under 14 years is recommended
